Chilean Flamingo
Chilean flamingoes are usually found on salt lakes, mudflats, estuaries, and lagoons is South America. To filter their water and food, this species of flamingo has bristle like projections on their tongues. Because they cannot drink salt water, they drink from springs, puddles, and sometimes even absorb rainwater through their feathers. Their status on the IUCN Redlist is "Near Threatened." The latin name is Phoenicopterus chilensis.
